As the industrial structure and the demographic composition are undergoing changes, the competition for talents is taking place around the world. Therefore, we aim to attract outstanding talents with great potential from the campus to feel Delta's vitality and ensure that our employees as the backbone of the company can fully dedicate themselves to Delta, thereby creating a kind of workplace experience that we are keen to bring to each of our employees. Of the numerous events and activities we held around the world, we would like to share a few classic events and activities we held in 2022 with you.

Global Internship and Engineer Experience Camp: 51-year-old Delta  attracts new-generation promising talents with creativity  Our young potential is the future of the workforce. Therefore, Delta Electronics collaborates with partners universities to offer internships for wide range type of functions. We held 2022 Start-Up Online, a hybrid internship program, in Taiwan this year and invited roughly 80 students from home and abroad to join and explore and experience the workplace, while motivating them to overcome barriers, make breakthroughs, and surpass themselves like playing a video game. Meanwhile, 40 equipment engineering (EE) experts from a variety of schools were invited to gather together to participate in a two-day engineer experience camp with the aim of planting the Delta's EE career seeds in the students' hearts through the solid power electronics theory and diverse hands-on training sessions.

Students with our recruiter on the career counseling day

In 2022, Delta EMEA welcomed more than 30 Bachelor and Master students in EMEA region and this number is expected to be at least doubled next year. This year, in 2022, a group of interns were invited to EMEA Regional headquarters in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands for a day of connecting, learning and fun. This session provided them the opportunity to share their experience, lessons and impressions of their internship with each other. Additionally, our recruiters shared best practices and tips when searching for a job. They discussed how to build a good resume, what to expect during an interview and how they can present themselves professionally.

L.E.A.D. – Leading, Empowering and Achieving at Delta  Having talents join Delta is just the starting point. Equipping them with the leadership skills and enabling them to achieve their career goals are the key to retaining talents and motivating them to strive hard with Delta as the backbone of the company.  To this end, we have launched a variety of talent development programs adapted to local conditions around the world. To enhance the organizational leadership skills Delta EMEA re-launched the leadership training program to create: L.E.A.D. – Leading, Empowering and Achieving at Delta. It’s a weeklong program for  leaders to break out from the busy environment and to explore leadership topics in a quiet and refreshing forest hotel in the Utrechtse Huvelrug National Park, the Netherlands.

This program was an exciting opportunity for colleagues to connect again with each other in person, after a long period of social distancing due to Covid-19. In the end, leaders from 13 EMEA countries and 16 different business units gathered to further develop their leadership skills.

EMEA Region Head Dalip Sharma sharing leadership values.
The trainings started as our EMEA Region Head, Dalip Sharma, explained in details the Delta mission, vision and values. He also discussed the Delta Leadership values to align on the leadership standards of the company. Mr. Sharma has shared as well his most valuable insights into leadership following all of his years’ experience. He left the participants with one guiding question for the week: What does leadership mean to you?

The senior leaders already brought rich leadership experience with them, which is the highest asset to share with each other. Even though from different business areas, with different business structures and strategies, the leaders have faced similar challenges. They therefore used this opportunity to look for possible solutions together and formed lasting alliances for the future.

The training weeks concluded with a final outdoor challenge for both groups. As a result, the participants set out to tackle difficulties and show their leadership skills in various settings outside the office. They had to trust and listen to each other and utilize their versatile strengths to reach the ultimate goal. This resulted in a combination of mental and physical exercises which helped to further strengthen their team bond. Ultimately, they found that their acquired theoretical knowledge even applied outside of the classroom.  Although such programs are common approaches, we continue to create different experiences for talents with creativity and sincerity. We hope that each and every employee can identify their career goals and achieve them at Delta to create unlimited possibilities for their career development.
