Delta Electronics Thailand creates a diversified communication platform to enhance employees' cohesion

The Delta Human Resource(HR) Team has been working on building an employer brand a step at a time, including campus recruitment events, employee relations and corporate culture rebuilding. This issue's "Employer Brand" will be sharing how the Delta Electronics Thailand Human Resource Team has improved "Employee Relations" by creating a multiple communication platform and system, leveraging community groups to understand to employees' concerns, and holding internal events to drive participation.

Leveraging on community to facilitate communication  “As the regional HR of South East Asia (SEA), we believe that it is essential to build a healthy and sustainable workplace for our employees.” Chih hao Huang, the head of regional HR of South East Asia stated. The communication with the employees is the critical process for them. Whenever a company announce a new implementation of the company policy or practices to the employees, the team thinks about how to build up the omini-channel to communicate with employees. It includes face-to-face communication, such as the company town hall or unofficial coffee talk, or lunch gathering. At the same time, HR team also focus on social media communication, including LINE, internal advertisements on TV, bulletin boards, and email announcements. Every employee may receive messages through any of these channels offline and online. Therefore, HR team creates a platform and mechanism that employees can always obtain the latest news from the company which also leads to employees’ acknowledgment and engagement in positive two-way communication.

According to official statistics of LINE’s official website, there are over 49 million active users of LINE Official Account in Thailand. That is the reason why many companies, including Delta Electronics Thailand, see the advantages of this LINE App to connect with our employees. After employees’ registration of the LINE account, they are able to receive all of the information that has been published by the company Besides, HR team sets up the ‘Feedback’ menu that has the feedback form to let employees leave comments about any topics that will be looked into actions, and taken whenever applicable. According to the latest data, there are 100% of Delta Thailand employees through this account, which is perfectly useful for company to provide not only general news but also emergency annoucement such as the industrial park flooding issue or the surrounding road sudden maintenance. 

On the other hand, for easier and direct communication, HR team installs DELTA Kiosk (Touch panel Monitor) as another channel to announce company news and employees get to search for any company-related information by simply just clicking on the panel. It is very important for daily employees who don’t have company email to receive the messages from the company. With Delta Kiosk, they still can access the company’s internal website to receive company information at Delta canteen. To provide employees with a more convenient working environment, the SEA HR team also customize the specific “SEA eForm” to provide regional-specific services, such as simultaneous ATK report checking and vaccination record.

Organizing forums to strengthen engagement of different parties  The SEA HR team designs many internal communication activities, such as the monthly HR Executive Forum with the purpose to provide a unique opportunity for HR professionals to share and learn together. All members will create their topics and share them with the team monthly. All members may also use this opportunity to exchange information, share feedback, share their story, and communicate freely with team members.

Miss Kwanjira Deesakul, SEA Talent Acquisition Officer, gave her expression at Monthly HR Executive Forum. She said, “When I’m coming to Delta on the first day, I found that our team is quite huge. We have many functions to cooperate. I’m quite worried about how to get to know each other because the workflow will be smooth if we have a strong relationship and communication. The monthly HR Executive Forum helps us to get to know each other, broaden my horizon by listening to their experience, learn HR knowledge, discuss or brainstorm and exchange information with HR team members that I’m not familiar with. I think this is a great activity and we can improve in the future.”

In Thailand, all staff and operators in the office and production line can leverage this communication channel platform for better receivable updated information, news, and services from Delta Electronics. They also use this platform to welcome newcomers, get to know each other, and learn about the team culture. This is an expression of sustaining all staff by providing the convenience of accessing information platforms. In the future, SEA HR team will continuously improve the communication among staff monthly and daily by providing service channels for employees. The SEAT HR team will continue to provide the communication channel platform in ever-more ingenious ways as they join hands with teams to grow together.
