Delta Electronics and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) have officially opened a second laboratory space on September 19th. Launched by Delta Electronics Chairman Yancey Hai, NTU President Subra Suresh and National Research Foundation Chie Executive Officer Low Teck Seng, the expansion of the lab helps accommodate the rapid growth in research activities and also allows the joint research team to explore several new projects that involve partners from industry, government and academia.

In the opening remarks, Delta Electronics CEO, Mr Cheng Ping, said, “Delta has a rich history and great success in collaborating with academia, a value continuously promoted and supported by our founder Mr. Bruce Cheng. As a corporate citizen, we truly believe that cultivating talent and nurturing innovation are the keys to a sustainable future.”
NTU President Professor Subra Suresh said, the tight collaboration between researchers from NTU and Delta enables the key progresses in the joint
efforts of enhance manufacturing processes, and improve learning and living experiences.
Launched in 2016 with the support of the National Research Foundation (NRF), the lab currently runs 15 projects. The research projects focus on four broad research areas: smart manufacturing, smart learning, smart living and smart commercialization. These technologies will be further developed into total solutions for global clients.
Guests watched the Smart Manufacturing project demo - universal smart navigation kit for AGVs. The new kit will increase AGVs’ flexibility with enhanced navigation abilities such as obstacle detection & trajectory planning
