Delta Power-Efficient Solutions helps Xiamen University’s Chinese-French team JIA+ place 3rd in SDC2018

The Chinese-French Team JIA+, formed by students of Xiamen University, Shandong University, and French Team Solar Bretagne, attended the Solar Decathlon China 2018 (SDC2018). Delta provided the project with various products and solutions including building automation, fan & thermal management, renewable energy, DC power supply, network switches, projectors, and charging stations. Team JIA+ stood out among 19 participating teams to win the 3rd place overall, the 3rd in Market Appeal, the 4th in Engineering, and the 5th in Innovation.

Xiamen University's Chinese-French Team JIA+ ranked 3rd overall in Solar Decathlon China

Delta’s chief brand officer Guo Shan-Shan indicated that Delta sponsored Xiamen University's Chinese-French team to enter SDC2018 in the spirit of the brand commitment "Smarter, Greener, Together." The Company also wishes to encourage students to join the research and application in the field of power-efficient buildings, and to dedicate themselves into the Earth's sustainable development. Since 2006, Delta has been title sponsor of the Delta International Solar Building Design Competition each year. In 2014, Delta sponsored the Taiwan’s National Chiao Tung University to participate in the Solar Decathlon Europe. In 2015, Delta held the Green Building Exhibition at the Grand Palais during the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris (COP 21), and the Exhibition has continued its world tour ever since. These are all actions taken by Delta to promote green buildings and fulfill its corporate social responsibility.

Wang Bo, the advisor of Team JIA+ indicated "The team cleverly created a spatial design, choosing the appropriate power-saving technologies, to create a traditional Chinese-style building that is also a modernized, sustainable green building." The building is 100% solar powered, using Delta's efficient photovoltaic inverters that supply the powerful energy. Furthermore, Delta's building automation products provided comprehensive monitoring and control of the lighting, HVAC, and energy management systems, while the EV charging system provided instant power monitoring and control.
