Since 2008, Delta has been participating in the “Hope for Pearl “ Project initiated by the Xin Hua Education Foundation. This year, new funding supports Wulong Middle School of Chongqing, bringing the total to 170 Delta pearl students across four schools. In October, the Delta Public Welfare Department and factory supervisors visited Wulong Middle School of Chongqing, the First High School of Rucheng of Hunan, Ningde Nationality High School of Fujian, and Suzhou No. 2 High School of Anhui to participate in the opening ceremonies, conveying Delta’s care and encouragement for the students.
Wulong Middle School is situated in a secluded mountainous region of Chongqing. The majority of students hail from nearby towns and villages, and a few of them face challenges in meeting their daily living expenses. Addressing the needs voiced by the Xin Hua Education Foundation and the school, Delta has initiated the “Delta Pearl Class”, effective from this year onwards. Yu Xing Xue, Sr. Factory Manager of Chongqing Plant, stated that Chongqing is an important manufacturing base for Delta in the western region, and, thus, the plant has taken action to provide local support. He encourages the pearl students to value the genuine care and love offered to them by society, and urges them to enrich their minds with knowledge, use wisdom to take hold of their destinies, and give back to society. Eason Chen, Director of the Public Welfare Department, stated that Delta has been supporting the Hope for Pearl Project for 16 consecutive years, drawing significant motivation from the pearl students’ diligent studies, as they successfully complete high school and university education, and fulfill the expectations of society. In addition to benefiting themselves, such action also benefit others, encouraging more enterprises to continue donating and supporting education.

In addition to Chongqing, Delta also provides substantial support to two schools in the provinces where its factories are located, such as Hunan and Anhui. Every year, the First High School of Rucheng of Hunan recruits students from nearby towns, who are economically disadvantaged but excel in both character and academics, to become pearl students. So far, the number of outstanding students recruited have spanned five cohorts of pearl students. Upon learning that some parents of pearl students work temporary jobs near the school without a stable income, Hai Bo Liu, Plant Manager of Chenzhou Plant, also proposed offering employment opportunities at Delta for these students’ parents to ensure their families have a stable income. At the same time, the “Delta Pearl Class” at Suzhou No. 2 High School of Anhui has nurtured over 200 pearl students. YS. Xie, Plant Manager of Wuhu Plant, hopes that the students will feel and spread love, cherish their opportunities, learn gratitude, focus on long-term development, and contribute to society. In addition, Delta also assists Ningde Nationality High School of Fujian in nurturing pearl students and encourages them to return to school to share their experiences. Through the organization of enriching team-building activities for the younger pearl students, Delta also aims to provide guidance for them to become strong and independent.
As of 2024, Delta has successively sponsored 32 Delta Pearl Classes in nine schools, including Nanping No.1 Middle School of Fujian, Pingquan No.1 High School of Hebei, Qixian Middle School of Shanxi, Yiyang No.1 Middle School of Hunan, Suzhou No. 2 High School of Anhui, Ningde Nationality High School of Fujian, The First High School of Rucheng of Hunan and Wulong Middle School of Chongqing. In total, they have provided three years of living subsidies for 1,280 high school students who are economically disadvantaged but possess good character and academic abilities. The schools have also correspondingly reduced or waived tuition and miscellaneous fees to help them complete their education. Over sixteen years, Delta has donated a total of 9.6 million RMB.
