Delta's DeltaGrid® energy management system enables factories and offices to move toward low-carbon sustainability
Text by EISBG 2022/12
With the Internet of Things (IoT) as the framework, Delta is actively developing in the fields of smart buildings, smart manufacturing, energy infrastructure, and information and communications. Delta exhibited DeltaGrid®, an energy management platform, on a large scale for the first time at Energy Taiwan 2022 this year on the basis of the vision that "Dr. Energy assists you in moving toward net zero". We also displayed our new products of the year at the exhibition, including an integrated energy storage system particularly designed for factories and offices, the only MW rated power conditioning system (PCS) made in Taiwan, a 350kW DC fast charger, and the DeltaGrid® EVM charging management system.

A comprehensive low-carbon solution: Dr. Energy  JJ Chang, Gernal Manager of Delta's EISBG, stated, "DeltaGrid® was launched after three years of development in conjunction with the AIoT, electric energy, and automatic control teams to specifically respond to the issues of green supply chains, laws on energy-heavy industries, business ESG, and carbon emissions as a feasible low-carbon transition solution for the power industry, communities, charging stations, factories, and offices.”
JJ Chang, Gernal Manager of Delta's EISBG, introduced Delta's DeltaGrid at Energy Taiwan 2022

Delta’s booth showcased solutions to the four major fields of low-carbon power grids, low-carbon factories and offices, low-carbon transportation, and low-carbon housing, including the agriculture/fishery and electricity symbiosis solar power systems, automatic frequency control (AFC) auxiliary service, solar energy and energy storage integrated system, office building/community-wide charging plans, factory carbon emission tracking, motor energy saving, and energy recovery.  The solutions and products exibited also included the PV inverter, MW-rated PCS, integrated energy storage system, medium voltage inverter, energy recovery system, and 350kW electric vehicle DC fast charger, which can be applied to various scenarios and are integrated in DeltaGrid®. With its AI-based regulation and digital services, the energy management platform can maximize the energy efficiency and equipment availability to achieve the low-carbon transition goals or create business profits.

Solar energy, electric vehicle charging, and energy storage solutions are integrated in DeltaGrid®  DeltaGrid® includes DeltaGrid® EVM (electric vehicle charging and energy management), DeltaGrid® EM (an energy storage system, energy storage AFC auxiliary service, solar power stations, factory carbon emission tracking, etc.), and DeltaGrid® O&M (equipment operation and maintenance service). The application of software adds value to the energy infrastructure systems and equipment; the digital operation and maintenance model optimizes the equipment availability and business profits. This is an energy IoT solution that integrates solar energy, electric vehicle charging, energy storage, and building automation systems. Through a centralized control and automatic coordination mechanism, the complexity of energy management is reduced and energy efficiency optimized. It is also the first solution in Taiwan to have passed the IEC 62443-3-3 information security certification at the system level. With an enhanced integrated equipment interface, we ensure the security of this energy system.

In addition, in terms of operation and maintenance, DeltaGrid® has AI-based preventive diagnosis and digital services. With a 24-hour operation and maintenance center, staffed with a team of the original manufacturer's technical personnel for round-the-clock monitoring, we can remotely monitor the operating status and provide after-sales service in real time, thereby optimizing the operating efficiency.
Our colleagues introduced the 350kW DC fast charger, the new product of the year, on-site. Its innovative power supply technology enables the energy conversion efficiency of up to 96%, and an electric vehicle can travel 250-300 kilometers simply on a 10-minute charge with this charger. Such features attracted many visitors to stop and take a close look.
