On October 23-24, Delta attended the Greenbuild China Conference and Expo held by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Delta was praised for its achievements in promoting green buildings and granted Green Vanguard and Industrial Vanguard awards. Under the special invitation of the sponsor, Ms. Shan-Shan Guo, Chief Brand Officer of Delta, attended the conference, made a keynote speech on behalf of Delta, and exchanged opinions with global leaders, experts and practice vanguard representatives in the green building industry about green building promotion experience.
Ms. Shan-Shan Guo shared her experience and achievements in leading Delta to be an international brand, and promoting enterprise to develop sustainably in Women in Green breakfast meeting. Then, she accepted the Green Vanguard award on behalf of Delta in the luncheon. Guo said, adhering to the concept of putting oneself in the place of another, Delta started to build green factories for itself in 2006 and gradually expanded to donations to the society. Now there are 26 green buildings constructed in total, twelve of which obtained USGBC LEED certification. In addition, Delta also built the world first LEED V4 ID+C certification data center. Only in 2017, certified green buildings of Delta saved electricity of 149 million-kilowatt hour, equivalent to a reduction of 9,268 tons in carbon emission. In recent years, Delta has been developing building automation as its core business, expanded its technological power to energy management, sensing and control system, smart lighting, air-conditioning, surveillance, and integrated service of buildings, further assisting buildings in saving energy and improving operation efficiency.
In the Greenbuild China conference, Delta was granted 2018 Industrial Vanguard award for its efforts in building the world first LEED V4 ID+C certification data center, Delta Wujiang Data Center. Through adopting Delta products and energy-saving solutions, the data center reached a gold level of 1.29 in its average annual Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) value from 2015 when the center was put into use in the period of three years from 2015 to 2018. Its integrated performance in terms of site selection and traffic, energy and atmosphere, and water use efficiency all got a high LEED score.
The conference organizer specially arranged its guests to visit Delta Shanghai Operations Centre and R&D Building, a LEED platinum green building, on October 22nd. The building received LEED-NC Gold Certification (for new building) in 2013. After years of improvements on energy efficiency, it received LEED-EB Platinum Certification (for existing building) in 2017. The building adopted Delta products and energy-saving solutions and could save as high as 39% of energy when compared to Shanghai large public buildings and as high as 46% of water compared to LEED design norms.
