Delta partnered with Digital Illumination Interface Alliance (DiiA), the headquarters that promotes the DALI protocol, to host the "2018 Conference on smart lighting applications and design innovation" on November 2 in Shenzhen, the hub of China’s lighting industry, in a bid to develop diversity of lighting designs in China and increase popularity of smart lighting through promotion of the DALI protocol. The conference attracted more than 120 representatives, including experts in smart lighting control, lighting designers, and smart building companies, who participated with great enthusiasm.
Experts at the conference all pointed out that the key to the promotion of a smart lighting that focuses on inter-connection and control lies in establishment of standards. In this regard, Dr. Scott Wade, DiiA Technology and Certification Manager, expressed that the DALI-2 version enhances DALI's advantages as a standardization protocol for digital lighting control, ensuring a coordinated operation of products of various functions in the lighting control system and their openness during maintenance. Zhao Guochao, Product Director of Smart Buildings Division at Delta Greentech, shared how Delta's LOYTEC smart lighting control system successfully created a better user experience and an energy-efficient model for building operation by utilizing applications such as constant light control, special-effect lighting, and scene scheduling under multiple cases of use, and getting interconnected with BA and a third-party system through its Internet of Things (IoT) structure.
Calvin Wang, Director of Delta Lighting Division, expressed that the cooperation between Delta Group and DiiA enabled lighting consumers and designers in China to enjoy the most advanced and user-friendly smart lighting solutions and products. Through this opportunity, Director Wang extended his invitation to the mainland's aspiring peers for working together, hoping that through such cooperative work, the efforts and operation of the platform will continue.
