Delta and the Taichung City Industrial High School have just announced the official start of an industry-education partnership for basic industrial and smart manufacturing training. This is Delta’s first time working with a vocational high school to train student talent. Using more than ten million NTD worth of Delta's industrial automation products, the partnership has built three labs: the Automation Basic Training Lab, the Robot and Motion Control Lab, and the CNC Mechanical Practice Center. There are also free online DeltaMOOCx courses by the Delta Electronics Foundation and the school's Electrical and Electronics Engineering Study Center, which offers courses in fundamental subjects such as basic electricity, electronics, and digital logic. The partnership demonstrates Delta's devotion to education and developing fundamental industrial and smart manufacturing talent. Attending the opening ceremony were Deputy Secretary General of the Taichung City Government Mr. Kun-Ming Kuo, Taichung Industrial High School Principal Mr. Wei-Xian Huang, Founder and Honorary Chairperson of Delta Group Mr. Bruce Cheng, DeltaMOOCx Project Leader Mr. Tsong-Pyng Perng, and General Manager of Delta IABG Mr. Andy Liu.

The Deputy Secretary General Kun-Ming Kuo indicated that as the world steps into the age of the knowledge economy, big data, and AI, the central government has designated Taichung as the "Smart Machine City". Taichung has specialty industries with outstanding production values such as machinery, green energy, aerospace, and precision machinery, as well as flourishing cultural and arts industries, which promise unlimited potential in the development of various industries. 

Mr. Bruce Cheng, Founder and Honorary Chairperson of Delta Group, indicated that smart manufacturing is a rapidly growing trend, which requires Taiwan to develop more professional talent. Industrial automation is one of Delta’s core businesses where research innovation and talent training are essential. Taichung Industrial High School is an excellent school for developing industrial technology expertise, and it has the advantage of being located next to Taichung's smart machines industry cluster. After the success of the online DeltaMOOCx courses 
created by the Delta Electronics Foundation and the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Study Center, Delta and Taichung Industrial High School partnered again to build the three labs. The labs will provide students with excellent opportunities to develop a foundation in automation skills through practice, and to continue their education in the smart manufacturing field.

Training talent for industry is the goal of Taichung Industrial High School, pointed out Mr. Wei-Xian Huang, principal of the school. Most of the school’s alumni enter technology universities to pursue further studies and work in related fields after graduation. Since Delta is one of the Taiwan’s leading industry brands, the school places a huge importance on this partnership and hopes that the donated equipment by Delta will allow students to gain practical experience and connect with the industry. He expects this industry-education partnership will encourage more students to join the automation industry.
