Delta supports Singapore’s national learning program with advanced manufacturing course and smart learning platform
Text by DRC 2018/08

To raise national innovation and productivity, Singapore government has launched the SkillsFuture program, targeting ten key economic development projects such as Industry 4.0. It cooperates with local universities in providing systematic training tools and courses. Corporate Laboratory, a collaborative result between Delta and Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU), uses smart online learning platform developed by Delta Research Center. It offers professional courses for users, with short-term modular courses in Smart Manufacturing at the initial stage, comprising 2 fundamental courses and 16 intermediate courses, scheduled to be available online by end of 2018 to beginning of 2019.

Lai Chung Han, Second Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Singapore, visited Delta’s booth. With Delta's project leader Dr. Jacksheng Kee’s explanation, Mr. Lai showed interest in Delta’s smart online learning platform "Anytime, Anyplace, multi–courses” and the Smart Manufacturing course

In the event of national on-the-job training promotion held by the Singapore authorities on July 16 and 17, Delta was invited to participate in the show and also cooperated to hold two Smart Manufacturing course seminars, attracting more than 70 people; some of them even attended for two consecutive days.

Delta-NTU Corp Lab has the most advanced cyber-physical system modular equipment, robot, as well as information and communication facilities. As the laboratory also integrates Delta’s professional knowledge and experience in global manufacturing, and first-class engineers, developers and researchers, as well as advanced manufacturing’s agile testing platform, it is hence one of the preferred partners of NTU in planning the Smart Manufacturing course.

Besides courses, the smart online learning platform developed by Delta Research Center is also recognized by NTU’s College of Professional and Continuing Education (CoPACE), and will be open to NTU alumni at the end of this year. Delta and NTU will continue to invite more partners with relevant experience or knowledge, together enriching the platform’s course content and assisting Singapore in upgrading manpower and achieving industrial transformation.
