Within the industry, certain industries continue to heavily depend on imported core manufacturing equipment. However, due to differences in voltage standards, importing high-end manufacturing equipment often involves facing decisions on UPS power configuration.A globally renowned display glass manufacturing company is planning for expansion with the addition of four 8.5-generation and above display glass substrate melting and forming production lines. The production line equipment used is fully imported and assembled, with a voltage standard of three-phase 208V. In addition, all machines require the installation of UPS to ensure that the production line is not affected by external power grid fluctuations.
Precision manufacturing power distribution - NT208V Integrated UPS
The current standard solution for users involves pairing transformers with UPS systems before and after, but this approach faces drawbacks such as slightly higher costs, lower efficiency, and significant space occupation. This is particularly concerning for precision manufacturing companies, where each additional power supply link introduces an extra potential risk. As a result, to accommodate the rapid deployment of the production line, there is an urgent need for a UPS power configuration that meets voltage specifications, is highly adaptable, and is safe and reliable.
To resolve such issues, Delta provided this renowned display glass manufacturing company with the NT series 208V Integrated UPS power distribution system. The NT Series is Delta UPS's most widely used product in the industrial manufacturing field. It has the special advantage of customizing the I/P-O/P rated voltage for various application environments, allowing users to tailor the UPS according to different voltage requirements. In this project, Delta provided four integrated NT 160K series UPS units supporting 208V voltage, eliminating the need for additional transformers, which saves space and enhances reliability.
The critical equipment of the production line is constantly affected by the quality of the power grid supply. Voltage sags and power outages can lead to equipment damage or production stoppages, resulting in significant economic losses. The NT series, known for its reliability and trustworthiness, has found extensive application in industries that cannot afford any voltage fluctuations, sags, or transient power interruptions, such as semiconductors, automotive manufacturing, hospitals in remote areas, and high-altitude railways.
In the current context of achieving carbon neutrality, policies are driving the manufacturing industry towards green and low-carbon development. Additionally, the energy efficiency of critical power supply systems is also a factor that needs to be considered during construction. Therefore, through a series of designs, the NT series UPS is able to achieves efficiency improvement and reduce initial investment costs.
Currently, the integrated NT 160K series UPS supporting 208V voltage is operating stably in the high-end display glass substrate melting and forming production line. It does not require additional transformers, offering high reliability, higher operational efficiency, and a smaller installation footprint; these advantages make plant maintenance and management easier, and have been highly recognized by users. As a global leader in UPS manufacturing, Delta offers a wide range of product solutions and industry experience across all power levels, tailoring the most reliable power source for high-end precision manufacturing companies.
