Since 2008, Delta has participated in the “Hope for Pearl” project initiated by the Xinhua Love Education Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the Xinhua Love Foundation), and has funded 1,110 high school students who are excellent in both academic and moral performance but have financial difficulties. They enjoy tuition reduction and a living allowance of 2,500 yuan per year for three years in high school. In October this year, Delta representatives went to the First Middle School of Rucheng County, Hunan, Ningde Ethnic Middle School, Fujian, and the Second Middle School of Suzhou, Anhui to hold the opening ceremony for the new freshmen.

Mr. Yuesheng Xie, the plant manager of Delta’s Wuhu plant, Mr. Eason Chen, the director of the Public Affairs Department, and Mr. Cao Zhenfeng, the principal of Suzhou No. 2 Middle School, jointly unveiled the “Delta Pearl Class” plaque for Suzhou No. 2 Middle School.

At the opening ceremony of the “Delta Pearl Class” at Rucheng No. 1 Middle School, Wang shared: “Although my family is poor due to illness, I am grateful for the kindness of the love fund, which is like flowers blooming on the branches, full of care and warmth. I will not forget to help others.” In addition, Ningde Ethnic Middle School in Fujian is the only ethnic minority key middle school in mainland China with She students as the main body. Two-thirds of the 300 pearl students funded by Delta in the past six years are from the She ethnic group. Ding Yi, the vice principal of Minzhong, said: “Hope for Pearl” has become a local brand, and Minzhong’s education and teaching achievements have been continuously improving under the guidance of this brand. Chen Yixiang, director of the Public Affairs Department of Delta-Zhongda Electric, also presented the autobiography of Delta’s founder Mr. Bruce Cheng, “The Solid Power”, to the students, encouraging the pearl students to study hard, have hope, light up themselves, and create the future. Liu Haibo, the plant manager of the Chenzhou plant, and Xie Yuesheng, the plant manager of the Wuhu plant, also encouraged the pearl students in Rucheng No. 1 Middle School and Suzhou No. 2 Middle School respectively, not to let poverty become a stumbling block for the pearl students to pursue knowledge and progress.

In addition to caring and funding, Delta opens its doors and welcomes pearl students to join and develop the future sustainably. Last year, Delta participated in the first cloud recruitment briefing hosted by the Xinhua Love Foundation for “pearl students” from universities across the country, and recruited more than a dozen pearl students to join Delta’s Wujiang and other plants. This year, it participated in the second briefing again, and each plant provided more than 100 positions, opened a “green channel”, and helped college pearl students to intern and work.

Since 2008, Delta has funded 28 “Delta Pearl Classes” in eight schools: Nanping No. 1 Middle School in Fujian, Pingquan No. 1 Middle School in Hebei, Qixian Middle School in Shanxi, Hefei 168 Middle School in Anhui, Yiyang No. 1 Middle School in Hunan, Suzhou No. 2 Middle School in Anhui, Ningde Ethnic Middle School in Fujian and Rucheng County No. 1 Middle School in Hunan, and donated a total of 8.325 million yuan in fifteen years. The “Delta Pearl Class” students achieved excellent results in the college entrance examination with the guidance of their teachers and their own efforts, and more than 85% of them went to colleges and universities.
