Delta leads the way to a sustainable future for Southeast Asia

Delta successfully hosted the Delta Future Industry Summit 2023 on November 3 in Bangkok, under the theme "Realizing a Smart Low-Carbon Society in Southeast Asia." This year's summit, the fifth annual event, brought together Delta partners from government, industry, and research sectors across Southeast Asia to network and explore innovations related to the company's latest smart solutions in EV charging, data centers, and green energy.

Delta held the fifth Future Industry Summit in Bangkok, exploring smart solutions for a low-carbon society in Southeast Asia.

Uniting for a greener future
Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, unveiled Thailand's vision and initiatives for a green economy and green taxonomy. He highlighted the government's commitment to investing over 450 billion baht in green initiatives and encouraging private sector investments of 1.6 trillion baht in SDG-related businesses by 2030. He also praised Delta for supporting the country’s shift to e-mobility and sustainable digitalization with energy-efficient EV charging and datacenter infrastructure. 

Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry of Thailand, encouraged the private sector to invest in the green economy.

Mr. Kavickumar Muruganathan, Sustainability & Policy Lead at Microsoft (APAC), emphasized the transformative role of datacenters and cloud services in driving digital transformation and sustainable growth. He underscored the cloud's critical impact on long-term economic progress and accelerated sustainable growth pathways for nations. Echoing the sentiment, Mr. Jackie Chang, Delta (Thailand) President, also reaffirmed Delta's commitment to a sustainable low-carbon society, exemplified by its RE100 target of achieving 100% renewable electricity across its global operations by 2030. 

Mr. Kavickumar Muruganathan, Microsoft (APAC), shared that data centers and cloud services are the cornerstone of digital economy development.

Showcasing innovation and collaboration
Two panel discussions further explored the themes of energy transformation and sustainable data center infrastructure. The first panel, titled "Energy Transformation for Low-Carbon Grid & E-Mobility," featured experts from Arun Plus, SP Mobility, Grab, and Delta, who discussed the challenges and opportunities in transitioning to a low-carbon transportation sector. The second panel, titled "Re-thinking Data Center Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future," brought together representatives from B-Global Tech, JLL, EPI, and Delta to examine the latest trends and advancements in data center design and operation.

Delta reiterated its commitment to Southeast Asia as a global corporate citizen and the regional center for R&D, manufacturing, and business. The company welcomes partnerships with governments and industries to advance UNSDGs through renewable energy, EV charging infrastructure, data center infrastructure, and industrial automation technologies, contributing to a healthier, safer, and more prosperous low-carbon society in the region. 

Arun Plus, SP Mobility, Grab and Delta experts jointly participated in the forum on “Energy Transition of Low-Carbon Grid and E-Mobility”.


The event also showcased Delta’s diverse products and solutions, covering data centers, EVs, energy storage, energy management, smart agriculture, indoor air quality and other fields.
