2020 Tokyo Olympics water show is staged with Delta’s TITAN projectors
The "Tokyo Sparkle Pageant Fountain Show" was hosted by the Bureau of Port and Harbor, Japan, to celebrate the first anniversary of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. This spectacular water and light show was held at the Odaiba Seaside Park, Tokyo, at which many Olympic events have been held here.  A nearly ten-minute performance, consisting of images, fountains, water curtains, and holographic display, not only allowed the audience to enjoy the fountains on the sea and the images projected on the water curtains but reminded people of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics through the magnificent images.

"Due to all sorts of reasons, the design of the water curtains and the identification of the optimal projection angle are a daunting challenge for the system integrator and our engineers," Aaron Hsu said. Aaron Hsu, a sales manager of Delta Japan, further stated that to display images on the beach, our engineers tilted another two projectors at 90 degrees and installed them vertically in a 3.5-meter-high tower building.  They pointed the projector at the sky and used a 0.38:1 UST periscope lens, to ensure sufficient distance to create a large image in a vast space.

To stabilize the environment of the projectors and ensure that they can display complete images on the water curtain on the sea with high salinity and humidity, our engineers had to create a certain degree of slope under the projectors, while taking the ambient temperature into consideration. Aaron Hsu added, "We needed to place a monitor near each projector to monitor the temperature and humidity from time to time to ensure that the projectors are functioning properly during the event."

Four Delta's TITAN projectors were used throughout the entire event to create two water curtains and light up the beach. This model of the projector can reach 37,000 lumens, allowing clients to adopt it at various large venues and providing them with amazing three-chip DLP ® performance. The TITAN series was initially conceived as a three-chip platform model with low running cost, high brightness, and high strength and evolved into a lineup model that enables various brightness levels and high-resolution projection through powerful and efficient electronic circuits. Furthermore, the TITAN series is user friendly and easy to control and can project amazingly high-resolution and high-contrast images.

Aaron Hsu concluded, "The client is very satisfied with the final image quality and how user friendly it is through the built-in controls of TITAN's excellent combined functions and impressed with the overall performance of our flagship DLP three-chip projector."
