Delta's 8K documentaries win two gold awards at the WorldFest-Houston!
Text by Delta Foundation 2022/08

The 8K ultra-high-resolution environmental documentary films produced by the Delta Group have once again been recognized by the international film festival.

Founded over 60 years ago, the "WorldFest-Houston" is one of the oldest independent film festivals in the world, attracting thousands of entries by filmmakers around the world every year. Life in the Coral Reefs and Swimming with Humpback Whale sponsored by the Delta Electronics Foundation, won the gold award in the long- and medium-length documentary film category and the gold award in the short-length documentary film category at the WorldFest-Houston, respectively. After Water with Life in 2019 won the gold award in the long- and medium-length documentary film category at the WorldFest-Houston, the 8K films produced by Delta are once again recognized by the international film festival.

Senior Japanese photographer Hiroyuki Nakagawasai was commissioned by the Delta Electronics Foundation to film Life in the Coral Reefs and Swimming with Humpback Whale in the Pacific Islands. With the ultra-high-resolution 8K image and close-up shots, he leads the audience to experience the coral reef ecosystem of the "tropical rainforest in the sea" with rich biodiversity in the colorful and blue underwater world.

These two award-winning films will be screened together at the Ocean Theater of the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology at 14:00 every day from July 2022. If you wish to experience how humpback whales swim leisurely on a 1,000-inch screen or have a glimpse of spotted garden eels with ultra-high-resolution image quality, please book a ticket on the website of the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology and experience the groundbreaking 8K images from the films.
