A new starting point toward a sustainable future: Grand opening of Delta’s new Japan headquarters

July 7th is Japan's Tanabata Festival, symbolizing reunion and the fulfillment of wishes. Delta Japan chose this meaningful and heartwarming day to hold the inauguration ceremony for its new headquarters and exhibition center — an important milestone in Delta's deepening commitment to the Japanese market.

In Tokyo, an international city blending tradition and modernity, Delta's new home in Japan has officially opened. This is a joyful moment for all Delta employees and marks the beginning of a new journey. This headquarters, integrating green building principles with smart technologies, not only serves as Delta's new base in Northeast Asia, but also represents our shared commitment to building a sustainable future together with our employees, partners, and society.

On the same day, Delta Japan also hosted "Sustainable Partnership Day 2025" — the first major event in Japan since the pandemic. Guests from industry, academia, and the media gathered to witness this significant moment. A total 107 companies and around 250 guests attended, joining this special day filled with hope and blessings to co-create a new chapter together.Group photo of Delta executives and DEJ colleagues.

Sustainable practices starting from the building
Delta's new headquarters in Japan, located by the waterfront, currently accommodates approximately 235 employees. This building not only features a minimalist and modern design but also embodies deep environmental principles and human-centric thinking. It has obtained multiple green building certifications and meets the standards for emergency shelters, including:
-ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) Ready Certification: Compared to standard buildings, it achieves significantly higher energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 120 tons annually.
-Highest Level under Japan's Building-Housing Energy-efficiency Labeling System (BELS).
-Highest S-Level Certification under Japan's Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency (CASBEE); as well as S-Level Certification for CASBEE Wellness Office.
-Seismic Safety: Complies with Japan's "Comprehensive Seismic Design Guidelines for Government Facilities" Category II structure, with seismic performance 1.25 times the standard requirement. The building has been designated as a local evacuation shelter, demonstrating Delta’s commitment to protecting both employees and the community.The rooftop garden of the new headquarters blends greenery with the urban landscape, creating a pleasant space for employees to relax and interact.

The excellent natural lighting and ventilation design keep us refreshed — it's truly amazing to work in such an environment." New showroom: a journey through Delta's solutions
The event kicked off with a guided tour of the new showroom, which spans 385 square meters and features an immersive, scenario-based design. This interactive space allows visitors to experience firsthand how Delta's solutions are applied across its four core business categories: Power Electronics, e-Mobility, Infrastructure, and Industrial & Building Automation. By showcasing real-world application settings, the exhibition significantly enhances customers' understanding of and connection to Delta's products, helping to spark new opportunities for collaboration.The event attracted nearly 250 industry experts who joined in the celebration, visited the new showroom, and experienced Delta's cutting-edge solutions across its four core business categories.

Focusing on AI and sustainability, deepening local innovation
Chairman & CEO Ping Cheng, Vice Chairman Mark Ko, Executive Vice President of Global Business Operations Jimmy Yiin, and Chief Brand Officer Shan-Shan Guo all personally attended this significant event. In his opening remarks, Mr. Ping Cheng reflected on Delta's transformation from a component supplier to a comprehensive solution provider. Drawing inspiration from Japan's resilience following the 1974 oil crisis, he emphasized Delta's long-term commitment to energy efficiency and innovation. In today's rapidly changing global landscape, he highlighted the increasing importance of actively practicing sustainability through concrete actions.

Chief Brand Officer Shan-Shan Guo shared Delta's global brand positioning and its concrete ESG initiatives, including the coral restoration project spanning Taiwan and Singapore, highlighting Delta's commitment to biodiversity. She also introduced the global sustainable AI research report launched this year in collaboration with Economist Impact, a prominent research arm of the Economist Group, which outlines the key pathways for sustainability in the AI era. Additionally, Delta premiered its corporate image video "Delta for AI – From Grid to Chip" in Japan, showcasing how the company's energy-efficient data center technologies can shape a sustainable future for AI —receiving  enthusiastic response from the audience.

From a market perspective, Northeast Asia Region Head Mr. Kengo Ka conducted an in-depth analysis of Delta's development strategy in Japan. He stated that driven by global energy transition and carbon neutrality goals, companies need to integrate resources and technologies more agilely. Delta Japan, with its new exhibition center as a hub, transforms its "energy-saving, green energy, and smart energy" solutions into visualized experiences to help partners accelerate the implementation of sustainable strategies.

Looking ahead, Delta Japan will support Japanese industry partners in achieving RE100 goals by improving the energy efficiency of AI data centers, 5G infrastructure, and smart factories. Additionally, through its leading automation technologies, Delta will help address labor shortages in Japan.

The event specially invited two distinguished guests for keynote speeches. Mr. Imai, Chairman of Toda Corporation, shared insights on how to integrate sustainability into urban development from the perspective of the construction industry. Ms. Otsuka, representative from Deloitte Financial Advisory, analyzed corporate transformation strategies under the global net-zero trend, offering valuable industry insights to the attendees.
