Delta's 350kW High Power Charger achieves first BSMI verification in Taiwan
Text by EISBG 2023/10

Delta's 350 kW High Power charger has achieved the Voluntary Product Certification (VPC) from Taiwan's Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), making it the first DC chargerwith a capacity of over 300 kW to pass the national standard certification in Taiwan. This accomplishment demonstrates our compliance with official safety and measurement standards, assisting customers with their electricity application for new charging stations while ensuring electrical safety and consumer rights.

Mr. Gary Fang, Director of Delta's EV Charging Solutions Business Unit, stated that Delta has been a leading manufacturer in EV charging infrastructure. We remain attentive to policy regulations and market trends, continuously improving research and development, manufacturing, and technical services. The successful VPC certification of the 350 kW DC High Power charger showcases Delta's technological prowess. In the future, we will continue enhancing production and maintenance services to provide stable charging infrastructure solutions and immediate after-sales support, aiding charging station operators in achieving sustainable operations.

Delta has accumulated over a decade of experience in the research, development, manufacturing, and sales of EV charging stations and has successfully expanded its presence in the global residential, commercial, and public charging sectors. The 350 kW DC High Power charger has been selected by international strategic partners and was first installed at the Kansai Service Area on National Freeway No. 3 in Taiwan. This installation marked the first National Freeway charging station in Taiwan to receive certification from the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI).

Delta   plans to complete the installation of EV chargers at service areas on National Freeways Su'ao, Tai'an, and Rende before the end of the year, providing rapid charging for electric vehicles and electric buses traveling north and south. With an official launch anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2023, we aim to further increase the density of fast-charging stations for electric vehicle owners in Taiwan, ensuring seamless long-distance travel across the island.

Key Features of Delta's 350 kW DC Ultra-Fast Charging Station:
1) Utilizes liquid-cooled cables with a 540A output current, enabling a single unit to deliver high-speed 350 kW charging capacity. This allows for a quick charge of approximately 250 to 300 kilometers of driving range in just 10 minutes.
2) Supports popular charging standards like CCS1 and CCS2 while optimizing cable management to reduce cable weight, enhancing the overall charging experience.
3) Features a charger with a separate power cabinet design. Advanced power module technology reduces the size of the power module, saving space and providing flexibility in parking lot planning.
4) Achieves an impressive power conversion efficiency of up to 96%, minimizing power loss during the charging process.
5) Supports the OCPP international charging communication protocol and comes equipped with Ethernet, 3G/4G, and other network communication options, facilitating remote management by charging station operators and optimizing operational efficiency.
