Delta dynamic data center promotes smart education for Longxiang school
Smart classrooms, cloud classrooms, interactive dual-purpose whiteboards, education projectors, etc., are all keywords in the modern education industry, creating a convenient and intelligent teaching environment for teachers and students, and driving the innovative development of education and teaching. Delta partnered with Nanjing Yiguang Technology to build an IT infrastructure-data center at Longxiang Middle School in Nanjing to promote efficiency and innovation in campus classrooms.

In the early stages of planning, Delta and its partner prioritized the Data Center Infrastructure Management System (DCIM) with an eye toward achieving real-time monitoring and even extending to asset management, supplier management, and spare parts management. This data center includes three major functional modules: asset management, capacity management, and energy consumption management, providing various data analysis, alert warning, thereby reducing the risk and usage cost of the data center to achieve holistic intelligent management for the campus. For the campus design, more emphasis was placed on carbon emission sources and calculations, and Delta's data has also played a carbon-reducing role in the construction of the brand new Longxiang Middle School. By implementing a series of energy-saving measures, the power usage effectiveness (PUE) of the data center has been reduced to below 1.3. In addition, the data center flawlessly complemented the computer room floor, reducing floor space and in turn, achieving the goal of saving space.

This is also the reason why we plan to continue our collaboration with Delta and Nanjing Yiguang in the future."

Delta data center helps radio and television new media business develop a smart platform
The radio and television center in Huai'an, Jiangsu Province, China, relocated to a new building in 2022. The new building integrated all among other programs, radio, television, newspapers, and new media and needed to effectively integrate the functions of editing, interviewing, production, broadcasting, and transmission. At the same time, there was a plan for a new data center to provide a more convenient platform for the new media model of the radio and television business. Delta partnered with Nanjing Jiaqiao System Engineering Co., Ltd. to assist Huai'an Broadcasting and Television's new data center in achieving its goals by adopting Delta's dynamic data center. In this project, three clear goals were established: to ensure data security while considering green energy goals, and to support day-to-day operations and maintenance.

Delta's data center serves as an intelligent platform, empowering the development of new media businesses at Huai'an Radio and Television Building.

Safe and reliable
The data center adopted distributed control to boost reliability such that even if one of the controllers malfunctions, the normal display and upload of information from other devices would remain unaffected. In addition, a highly reliable emergency heat dissipation design, which automatically opens the sunroof for heat dissipation when an internal temperature is detected to be too high, was adopted. The sunroof has self-charging power and does not take up UPS power supply resources.

Green and energy saving
An airflow suppression system is used to effectively isolate the mixture of hot and cold air, and the centrifugal air supply air flow of the air conditioner is sent horizontally to reduce the impedance of the air supply. It is equipped with high-efficiency UPS that can achieve up to 94% half-load efficiency, effectively reducing the PUE below 1.3. The air conditioner adopts rear tilt centrifugal fans which protrude forward in the cooling passage. The overall airflow is horizontal and side fed, which can reduce the impedance and reduce the cold passage distance. The depth is 1200mm, fitting flawlessly with the floor of the computer room to save space.

Smart maintenance
The DCIM system unifies the management of decentralized systems in the data center, improving operation and maintenance efficiency by over 30%. The more detailed energy management has increased the energy and capacity utilization rate of the data center by up to 20%. To boot, this project is designed to provide WeChat alert function where operation and maintenance personnel can also monitor the system operation at any time via the app.
