Addressing carbon anxiety: DeltaGrid® supports low-carbon transformation for industrial and commercial facilities
Text by EISBG 2023/12
With the global trend of carbon reduction, energy transition has become an undeniable pressure. Yet concurrently, it serves as the driving force and business opportunity for enterprises moving towards green energy and eco-friendly policies. In response to the requirements of the international supply chain, many global industries are experiencing carbon anxiety, prompting proactive initiatives to implement transformations that will enhance their competitiveness. This issue’s ''IoT SMART SOLUTIONS'' will announce our participation in the Energy Week Exhibition as well as share our solutions and experience in energy conservation and carbon reduction.

The Energy Taiwan 2023 exhibition, part of the Taiwan International Smart Energy Week, was recently held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Under the sustainability concept of ''AlwaysOn,'' Delta showcased four major areas. Addressing the challenge of manpower shortages with the precise carbon inventory execution in enterprises, Delta exhibited its DeltaGrid® CEM Carbon Emission Management System. This system facilitates enterprises in generating organizational carbon inventories and carbon footprint reports in accordance with ISO. Delta provides solutions and products that are ''effective, secure, and long-term operable,'' assisting partners moving towards the goal of energy transformation.

The General Manager of Delta's EISBG, JJ Chang, stated that Delta has implemented energy-saving and carbon reduction solutions across its global locations and increased its proportion of renewable energy usage. The energy infrastructure solutions at this exhibition have been successfully implemented in Delta's global offices and demonstrated significant effectiveness.

JJ Chang, the General Manager of Delta's EISBG, introduced a vision of well-being and sustainable energy with the concept of ''AlwaysOn''.

Four key areas: Low-carbon offices, low-carbon transportation, grid transformation, and real-time maintenance
The exhibition was divided into four main areas: low-carbon offices, low-carbon transportation, grid transformation, and real-time maintenance. Delta offered its comprehensive solutions, from product design to system planning and installation, along with 365-day maintenance services for addressing carbon anxiety, as well as the trend of vehicle electrification, the stable operation of smart grids, and the challenges of maintenance. In response to the challenge of the insufficient support from overseas original equipment manufacturers (OEM) that occurs after the introduction of energy infrastructure, Delta introduced its 365-day local on-site maintenance service. This service aims to enhance the operational efficiency of enterprise systems.

Delta staff introduced visitors to the unique features of OEM zero downtime maintenance, providing 365-day maintenance services.

The DeltaGrid® Energy Management System integrates PV inverter, power conditioning systems (PCS), energy storage systems (ESS), and AC/DC EV chargers, complemented by AI-driven intelligent control for optimal utilization. Furthermore, the DeltaGrid® Energy Management System has achieved IEC 62443-3-3 cybersecurity certification, a pioneering achievement in the industry for its application in photovoltaic energy storage and charging systems. This certification effectively assists customers in enhancing cybersecurity resilience.

Exhibition highlight: Comprehensive million-watt energy storage system - Magic Cube
Another eye-catching highlight of this exhibition was Delta's annual introduction of a new energy infrastructure product — the million-watt energy storage system, Magic Cube. This container-based system, built on a 10-foot container, boasts a unit capacity of up to 1.4 MWh. It is efficiently pre-installed before leaving the factory, facilitating ease of transportation and installation. Additionally, it offers flexible on-site connections for expansion and concatenation, achieving high energy density capacity and optimizing land area configuration. The exhibition also showcased an integrated solution for industrial and commercial solar energy storage and charging, addressing challenges such as insufficient green energy for businesses and the difficulty of aligning electricity generation and consumption periods. This solution maximizes the benefits of green energy utilization.

The Magic Cube grid-level energy storage system attracted a large crowd of visitors at the exhibition.

Assembling industry experts to facilitate enterprises in their low-carbon transformation
During the exhibition, Delta also organized the ''Low-carbon Sustainability Dialogue'' seminar, featuring external speakers such as Dr. Yen-Haw Chen, Director of the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research; Brian Lin, Executive Director of Ernst & Young; Terence Wang, Product Manager at VicOne; as well as Delta's energy experts. The speakers shared insights on the current status and industry analysis of Taiwan's Net Zero Carbon regulations, key points in corporate carbon management implementation, cybersecurity measures for electric vehicle charging networks, and Delta's low-carbon energy solutions. The aim is to assist enterprises in aligning with international trends and moving towards a sustainable future with Net Zero.
