Delta’s AI solutions secure double honors at Ministry of Economic Affairs' Best AI Awards
2026/06

The 2026 Best AI Awards recently concluded at the Nangang Exhibition Center. Organized by the Department of Industrial Technology under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the competition focuses on bringing AI into real-world industrial applications across various industries. Standing out among elite global teams, the Delta Research Center took home both the Gold Award and an Honorable Mention in the "AI Application - Enterprise Category," showcasing the team's deep capabilities in cutting-edge AI and industrial implementation.

Delta wins the Gold Award at the 2026 Best AI Awards, standing out among 1,487 teams from 36 countries

Winning the top Gold Award and a NT$1 million prize was ZeroSQL - Your AI Data Assistant, a breakthrough development from the Natural Language Laboratory at the Delta Research Center. Designed to tackle major enterprise pain points, such as the high technical barrier to data queries and steep cross-departmental communication costs, ZeroSQL offers a comprehensive BI Agent workflow solution. By integrating RAG-enhanced table selection with multi-turn conversation mechanisms, users can type questions in plain natural language, and the system automatically generates SQL code, aggregates data, and builds charts. Furthermore, it supports lightweight on-premise deployment, allowing sensitive data to be processed securely within a company's internal network to ensure information security and data sovereignty, offering immense potential for commercial adoption.

ZeroSQL uses natural language for data queries, analysis, and visualization, lowering the barrier to enterprise data usage

Equally impressive was the "AI Cooling Energy Savings (ACES) Solution," which followed its 2026 Taiwan Excellence Award win by securing an Honorable Mention. Jointly developed by the Delta Research Center’s Digital Twin-based Optimization Lab and the IT Solution Enablement Center (ITSEC), ACES directly addresses the massive energy consumption challenges and ESG pressures brought on by high-performance AI computing. ACES leverages physics-informed machine learning (PIML) and digital twin technology to upgrade data center operations from reactive troubleshooting to predictive diagnostics. Through its reliable gray-box decision engine and fully optimized, system-wide cooling adjustments, it eliminates hotspots and cuts redundant cooling while keeping facilities completely safe, guiding data centers into a new era of sustainable operations.

ACES uses predictive, multi-variable algorithms to cut cooling energy consumption by an average of 5–10%

This year’s Best AI Awards drew over 1,487 teams from 36 countries. Out of the 253 finalists, 100 awards were presented—but only 8 highly coveted Gold Awards were given out, making the competition incredibly fierce. Winning gold amidst heavy competition from major global corporations and research institutions is a powerful validation of Delta's R&D direction. It also underscores the team's strong capabilities in Agentic AI and Edge AI system integration.

Moving forward, the Delta Research Center will continue to deepen its AI research and commercial momentum, collaborating with industrial partners to turn innovative concepts into high-value business solutions that deliver on Delta's brand vision of intelligence and sustainability.
