Autonomous building evolution: Delta Digital Twins deliver 20% predictive energy savings
Text by BABG 2026/04

Delta participated in the 2026 Smart City Summit & Expo under the theme “Building a Smart Future Together,” officially unveiling the latest upgrades to its iCMS Smart Campus Management Platform. The exhibit centered on Commercial & Industrial Facilities and Municipal Infrastructure, utilizing a single interface to integrate smart street lighting, security surveillance, EV charging stations, and energy/water management. Delta demonstrated how to transform heterogeneous data into precise decision-making, leading the transition from automation toward sentient “Autonomous Buildings.”

Cross-site integration expertise: Enhancing operational efficiency for single and multi-building facilities
The upgraded iCMS platform demonstrates powerful cross-site integration capabilities, offering the technical depth to manage not only individual buildings but also complex, multi-building operations.

Hong Wu, General Manager of Delta’s Building Automation Business Group, stated: “Delta leverages deep experience across various vertical markets to master key technologies for cross-site integration. Whether for a single facility, multiple buildings, or complex site integrations, our one-stop solutions help commercial and industrial clients implement high-performance facility operations, transforming complex data into measurable business outcomes and strengthening long-term competitiveness.”

Digital Twin applications: Physics-based simulation driving predictive energy savings
A major technical highlight of the exhibition was the application of NVIDIA Omniverse™ Digital Twin technology within the iCMS platform. By utilizing high-fidelity 3D visualization and physics-based simulations, the system can track the real-time impact of environmental changes on energy consumption.

Using Delta’s Taipei headquarters as a verified case study, the application of Digital Twin technology enables the system to proactively regulate lighting and HVAC systems. By scheduling air conditioning adjustments before ambient temperatures rise, the system ensures optimal indoor comfort with minimal energy use, achieving approximately 20% in potential energy savings. This evolution from passive monitoring to “autonomous prediction” is the cornerstone of intelligent management for autonomous buildings.
