Promoting sustainable transportation Delta's high-power charging solutions support Sweden's green road project
Text by EISBG 2025/06

The adoption rate of electric vehicles in Sweden continues to rise, leading to an increasing demand for charging infrastructure. In order to achieve the goal of climate neutrality by 2045, the Swedish government is actively promoting the transition of transportation fleets to non-fossil fuel alternatives.

Recently, the official launch of a heavy-duty electric vehicle charging station at Smedjebacken marks a significant milestone in the development of low-carbon transportation in the region. This site has become one of the fastest heavy-duty vehicle and passenger car charging stations in Europe. This charging station is part of the Green Road Project, extending along RV66 from Smedjebacken to Malung-Sälen. A total of nine charging stations have been established along this route, aiming to create a high-speed charging corridor that spans the road network.

The entire project is fully funded by the Swedish Energy Agency, playing a crucial role in promoting the national energy transition. The Delta HPC 350 kW charging station, with its exceptional reliability and outstanding performance, is capably providing power support for the Green Road Project. These charging stations provide efficient charging, accelerating the electrification of transportation in Sweden.

This project was jointly promoted and completed by Delta and its long-term local partner, Svensk Fordonsladdning SE. The charging station is equipped with three Delta HPC 350 kW charging piles, each fitted with two charging ports, totaling six charging points. This setup can simultaneously support the charging needs of both heavy-duty transport vehicles and passenger cars. The charging station incorporates Delta's dynamic power distribution technology, which intelligently allocates power supply based on the actual needs of different vehicles, significantly enhancing charging efficiency and user experience.

As Sweden moves towards its 2045 climate neutrality goal, Delta's HPC 350 kW charging station is propelling Smedjebacken to become one of the fastest electric vehicle charging stations in Europe. Delta collaborates with Smedjebacken Energi AB and Svensk Fordonsladdning SE to create a smarter, cleaner future for electric transportation in Sweden through high-efficiency charging and dynamic power distribution technologies.

This project is not only helping strengthen Sweden's electric vehicle charging network but also accelerating the comprehensive transformation of both commercial and private vehicles towards sustainability, thus laying a solid foundation for Sweden to achieve its climate neutrality goals.
