Delta in China's Top 10 CSR Leaders for a decade: collaborating on ESG materials for high-quality development

Delta was honored to participate in the "ESG China · The 7th Beijing CSR Expo", organized by the China Enterprise Reform and Development Society and the CSRCloud Research Institute. Delta has been selected as one of the "Top 10 Foreign Companies in Corporate Social Responsibility Development Index in China" for ten consecutive years, included in the comprehensive top thirty rankings seven times, and also received the prestigious "ESG Dual Carbon Pioneer Award". At the event, the "Guide to Corporate Sustainability," co-edited by Delta, was officially launched, guiding Chinese enterprises to enhance their sustainable development management and practices. May Wu, Chairperson of Delta China ESG Committee, delivered a keynote speech, showcasing Delta's accomplishments in integrating ESG principles and dual carbon goals in the digital era, and collaborating with representatives from various sectors to redefine corporate responsibility in the new era. In 2023, Delta achieved a 39% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions compared to the base year of 2021, successfully meeting the SBT net-zero phased targets for two consecutive years. Delta was recognized as China's "Top Runner" enterprise for Industrial Carbon Peaking, progressively advancing towards carbon neutrality by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050, reaffirming its commitment to the dual carbon goals through concrete actions.

Zhong Hongwu, Professor of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the President of the CSRCloud Research Institute, noted that the "Blue Book of Corporate Social Responsibility" has been published for 16 consecutive years. This publication provides an in-depth analysis of the top 100 state-owned enterprises, top 100 private enterprises, and top 100 foreign-invested enterprises, alongside 15 key industries and several exemplary companies, focusing on their social responsibility (ESG) management and information disclosure practices. The report sheds light on the evolving trends of Chinese enterprises in fulfilling social responsibilities and offers actionable insights to guide them in enhancing their efforts in this new era and on the new development journey. It aims to drive the advancement of corporate social responsibility in China towards a higher standard of quality.

May Wu, Chairperson of Delta China ESG Committee, highlighted that being recognized as one of the top ten foreign enterprises for ten consecutive years reflects Delta's steadfast commitment to corporate sustainable development. Guided by its mission of "providing innovative, clean, and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow," Delta continually elevates its sustainable development management standards, implementing responsible practices across environmental, social, and governance dimensions to drive economic and social progress. In 2023, Delta invested 1.47 billion RMB in research and development in mainland China, leveraging technological innovation to empower industrial advancement. On the environmental front, Delta's facilities in mainland China completed 145 energy conservation projects in 2023, resulting in a total electricity savings of 18.93 million kilowatt-hours. Through initiatives such as self-generated solar power systems, green electricity purchases, and green certificate acquisitions, renewable electricity accounted for 91.4% of total usage. Furthermore, Delta is also deeply committed to social welfare, with a strong focus on green building and environmental education. By the end of 2023, the Delta Cup International Solar Building Design Competition had attracted 10,732 team registrations and received 2,254 valid submissions, with five award-winning projects successfully implemented, showcasing Delta's dedication to fostering sustainability through education and innovation.

Since publishing Delta's first CSR Report (Sustainability Report) in 2005, the simplified Chinese version of its Report has consistently earned the highest "Five Stars" rating from the Chinese Expert Committee on CSR Report for four consecutive years. This distinction underscores Delta's extensive expertise in effectively communicating sustainable development initiatives to stakeholders. Furthermore, Delta also actively contributes to the compiling of local ESG standards and educational resources, working to enhance corporate awareness and management capabilities in sustainable development. Building on its involvement in compiling the "ESG Fundamentals Guidebook," Delta now provides in-depth support for the "Guide to Corporate Sustainability" By sharing its carbon management successes and offering practical reference cases, Delta helps to strengthen the foundations of sustainable development in China.
