Delta UPS ensures reliable train operations, guarding high-speed rail at 350 km/h

The Guangzhou-Shanwei high-speed rail officially is a high-speed railway in Guangdong Province, China, connecting the cities of Guangzhou, Huizhou, and Shanwei. This is also the first high-speed railway in Guangdong Province with a speed of 350 km/h, which was led by the province for the first time. In the railway system, if the signal equipment commanding the train operation is considered the eyes ensuring safety, then the control room is like the central nervous system, and the core equipment within it - the UPS uninterrupted power supply system - is the heart of the entire system. The Guangzhou-Shanwei high-speed railway has adopted Delta's NT series industrial-grade UPS with different power ranges. This is also the first time that the high-speed railway has adopted Delta's UPS power supply solution with SMB technology.

The UPS system, which adopts SMB technology, can significantly reduce the possibility of downtime and power outages even in extreme situations, further enhancing the power supply safety level of the high-speed railway signal system. Meanwhile, Delta's SMB is integrated into the main control board of the UPS equipment, eliminating the need for additional external devices during on-site use and avoiding any additional impact on the high-speed rail station equipment.

The Guangshan high-speed rail requires the use of UPS sites, including 8 major sites such as Xintang, Zengcheng, Luofushan, and Shanwei, as well as 16 relay stations. These newly opened high-speed rail stations are mostly located in remote areas, and the relay stations will be unmanned. Meanwhile, due to the remote location, the selection of UPS must also fully consider the impact of various adverse factors such as dust, humidity, heat, and inclement weather. The Delta NT series industrial-grade UPS, designed with power inversion technology, provides better short-circuit protection and electrical load isolation. The independent heat dissipation channel design for the power devices improves heat dissipation efficiency and reduces the impact of environmental dust on the power devices,  increasing the reliability of UPS.A Delta technical engineer is conducting equipment checks at the Guangzhou-Shanwei High-Speed Rail station site.
